Detroit man accused of raping grandmother

A Detroit grandmother says her 19-year-old step-grandson raped her on several occasions, and she hopes he is treated the same way in prison.Fox 2 reports Lee Aaron Moorer will face multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct on Tuesday, and that his step-grandmother will testify against him.But first, the unidentified victim sat down with the television station to share her story."I want everybody to know he's a rapist, and he's done it to me more than once," she told Brad Edwards."I allowed him and his mother to live with me, and this is what I get."The grandmother said medication she takes makes her groggy, and she woke up recently and saw Moorer pulling up his pants.In text messages Moorer allegedly sent to his grandmother, he asked her not to tell anyone and threatened suicide.But the grandmother offered no sympathy."I just want him to be violated like he violated me," she said. "If he goes to jail, I hope they rape him. I hope they make him somebody's princess. I really do."

No Speakey English...

A police officer in Dallas wrote a ticket to Ernestina Mondragon for not speaking English, but this is not the first incident. The Dallas P.D. has issued numerous tickets for not speaking English:
Police in Dallas, Texas, are apologizing after learning that they have written dozens…of traffic tickets to drivers who can’t speak English. One of those motorists is Ernestina Mondragon, who was fined $204 for not speaking English during a traffic stop earlier this month. Mondragon also was ticketed for making an illegal U-turn and for not having her driver’s license with her. But the citation for not speaking English was insulting, she said.
“I felt humiliated. My self-esteem hit the floor. I felt like I’d been discriminated against,” Mondragon said in Spanish. She has lived in the United States legally since 1980, but has struggled to learn the language. A Dallas police department internal review revealed that 38 other tickets have been issued in the past three years to people who did not speak English. All those tickets are being dismissed and the fines will be reimbursed, said Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle.
The chief has launched an investigation into the officers who wrote the tickets and the supervisors who approved the work. “I apologize to the Spanish-speaking, Hispanic community. It’s particularly disappointing for a city like Dallas, because we are very, very diverse,” Kunkle said at a recent news conference. The tickets run counter to the state’s licensing practices. The Texas Department of Public Safety offers driver’s licensing handbooks and tests in Spanish. Its Web site includes a link to an all-Spanish version.
Confusion involving federal law might have led to the improperly issued tickets, Dallas’ police chief said. Federal law requires drivers of commercial vehicles — including trucks, limos and taxicabs — to speak English. But review by Dallas police showed that none of the tickets were issued to commercial drivers. Kunkle said his department’s switch to an electronic ticket system led to a “non-English-speaking-driver” charge appearing on a drop-down menu. Officers must have thought it applied to people such as Mondragon, the chief said. Critics, however, doubt that the tickets were a mistake and wonder whether officers were trying to send a message to non-English speakers.
“When it happens 39 times, then there’s something a little bit more serious that’s inherent in law enforcement in Dallas,” said Hector Flores of the League of United Latin American Citizens.

There are approximately 225 juveniles in California serving a life without parole sentence. California has the worst racial disparity rate in the nation for sentencing juveniles to life without parole. Black youth are given this sentence at 22 times the rate of white youth.
A number of California cases have recently been highlighted in the media due to the background of the juveniles who received the sentences, and the circumstances surrounding their crimes. One such case involves Sara Kruzan, now 28. She was raised in Riverside by her abusive, drug-addicted mother. Sara met her father only three times in her life because he was in prison.
Since the age of 9, Sara suffered from severe depression for which she was hospitalized several times. At the age of 11, she met a 31-year-old man named G.G. who molested her and began grooming her to become a prostitute. At age 13, she began working as a child prostitute for G.G. and was repeatedly molested by him. At age 16, Sara was convicted of killing him. She was sentenced to prison for the rest of her life despite her background and a finding by the California Youth Authority that she was amendable to treatment offered in the juvenile system. “Life without parole means absolutely no opportunity for release,” said Senator Yee. (of California) “It also means minors are often left without access to programs and rehabilitative services while in prison. This sentence was created for the worst of criminals that have no possibility of reform and it is not a humane way to handle children. While the crimes they committed caused undeniable suffering, these youth offenders are not the worst of the worst.”
“As a society we’ve learned a lot since the time we started using life without parole for children,” said Elizabeth Calvin, a children’s rights advocate with Human Rights Watch. “We now know that this sentence provides no deterrent effect. While children who commit serious crimes should be held accountable, public safety can be protected without subjecting youth to the harshest prison sentence possible.”

Atlanta police found the dead man near the intersection of Lisbon and Cahoon streets about noon. Police said the suspects pulled in behind the victim’s car, shot him 31 times and fled.
An assault rifle is believed to have been used by one man while the other used a 9 mm handgun.
The victim’s name has not been released.
Police said Sunday morning that they have no suspects or motive in the killing. Story is developing...

Universal Pot Selling - UPS!

ATLANTA — A UPS Manager is accused of stealing a package filled with marijuana and selling the contents inside, Acting United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said.
Anna Wright, 33, of Atlanta, was arrested on charges of making false statements to federal agents.
Authorities said they alerted Wright that a certain mail box in her store might receive a package containing contraband. Investigators said Wright agreed to contact the United States Postal Inspectors if that were the case. But rather than calling Postal Inspectors when the mail box received a package, authorities said Wright stole the parcel, which contained several pounds of marijuana, and sold most of the drugs for profit.
“Not only did this defendant abuse her position as a UPS Store manager by stealing a package, she then distributed marijuana found in the package and lied to the federal agents,” said Yates.
Wright made an initial court appearance Friday before United States Magistrate Judge E. Clayton Scofield, III.
“The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is responsible for keeping the U.S. mail safe from all illegal contraband. We often rely on the public for information during our investigations. It’s a betrayal of trust when they lie to Postal Inspectors. This is unacceptable,” said Martin D. Phanco, Postal Inspector in Charge of the Atlanta Division.
Each of the charges carry a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

THE UNEXPLAINED: (VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE-PART II)
The Bennington Triangle
Between 1920 and 1950, Bennington, Vermont was the site of several completely unexplained disappearances:
*On December 1, 1949, Mr. Tetford vanished from a crowded bus. Tetford was on his way home to Bennington from a trip to St. Albans, Vermont. Tetford, an ex-soldier who lived in the Soldier's Home in Bennington, was sitting on the bus with 14 other passengers. They all testified to seeing him there, sleeping in his seat. When the bus reached its destination, however, Tetford was gone, although his belongings were still on the luggage rack and a bus timetable lay open on his empty seat. Tetford has never returned or been found.
*On December 1, 1946, an 18-year-old student named Paula Welden vanished while taking a walk. Welden was walking along the Long Trail into Glastenbury Mountain. She was seen by a middle-aged couple that was strolling about 100 yards behind her. They lost sight of her when she followed the trail around a rocky outcropping, but when they rounded the outcropping themselves, she was nowhere to be seen. Welden has not been seen nor heard from since.
*In mid-October, 1950, 8-year old Paul Jepson disappeared from a farm. Paul's mother, who earned a living as an animal caretaker, left her small son happily playing near a pig sty while she tended to the animals. A short time later, she returned to find him missing. An extensive search of the area proved fruitless.
The Vanished Cripple
Owen Parfitt had been paralyzed by a massive stroke. In June, 1763 in Shepton Mallet, England, Parfitt sat outside his sister's home, as was often his habit on warm evenings. Virtually unable to move, the 60-year-old man sat quietly is his nightshirt upon his folded greatcoat. Across the road was a farm where workers were finishing their workday by pooking the hay. At about 7 p.m., Parfitt's sister, Susannah, went outside with a neighbor to help Parfitt move back into the house, as a storm was approaching. But he was gone. Only his folded greatcoat upon which he sat remained. Investigations of this mysterious disappearance were carried out as late as 1933, but no trace or clues to Parfitt's fate were ever uncovered.
The Disappearing Diplomat
British diplomat Benjamin Bathurst vanished into thin air in 1809. Bathurst was returning to Hamburg with a companion after a mission to the Austrian court. Along the way, they had stopped for dinner at an inn in the town of Perelberg. Upon finishing the meal, they returned to their waiting horse-drawn coach. Bathurst's companion watched as the diplomat stepped over to the front of the coach to examine to horses - and simply vanished without a trace.
Time Tunnel
In 1975, a man named Jackson Wright was driving with his wife from New Jersey to New York City. This required them to travel through the Lincoln Tunnel. According to Wright, who was driving, once through the tunnel he pulled the car over to wipe the windshield of condensation. His wife Martha volunteered to clean off the back window so they could more readily resume their trip. When Wright turned around, his wife was gone. He neither heard nor saw anything unusual take place, and a subsequent investigation could find no evidence of foul play. Martha Wright had just disappeared.

Despite Denise being close to her parents, they haven't heard from her in 36 years and wonder if she's dead or alive? Allegedly, the Feds had her parents phone tapped for five years, Denise never called.
The authorities were once tipped off that Matthews was lounging on a private jet on a private airstrip, when they arrived, the plane was abandoned.
It's speculated that Matthews went to South America and underwent plastic surgery to change his looks.
He still remains a fugitive.

Before becoming a disciple of Anton LaVey, Jayne Mansfield held a strong interest in the supernatural. According to May Mann, Mansfield's best friend of 12 years, Mansfield pursued astrology, religious cults, was fascinated with Satanism and the occult, and engaged in bizarre behavior such as wandering around graveyards and cemeteries.
Following an introduction to LaVey's Church of Satan, Mansfield insisted on meeting him. Upon their meeting, Mansfield came to embrace all of the Satanic doctrines, as well as pledged membership to the Church of Satan. Mansfield had a custom pink and black Baphomet medallion made for her, and as an avid promoter of Satanism even wore it to the 1966 San Francisco Film Festival. Mansfield's perseverance and determination within the Church soon escalated her to the position of High Priestess. This honor came with a certificate that she had framed and proudly hung in her bedroom. To compliment her occult studies, she also enveloped herself in witchcraft and black magic.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Screams filled the evening sky as family members try to cope with what happened Monday in a South Memphis community. Two children, 2-year old Catareon Dunn and 3-year old Ladareon Dunn, were left home alone shortly before a fire broke out.
Officials responded to a house fire call at 1236 Effie Road off Mt. Moriah.
The two boys were left unattended while their mother and aunt left the house to go drop off a friend. Sometime after that, 911 received a call from neighbors saying the house was on fire.
Neighbors say they heard screams coming from the house and rushed to the back door to try and rescue the children. However, when they got there, the flames and smoke were too powerful for them to enter.
When the children were finally pulled from the house, onlookers described them as looking like "rag dolls." Both were rushed to the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in critical condition. Ladareon died shortly thereafter. Catareon remains in critical condition. The children’s aunt, Marilyn Wilson, who left the house with the mother, said she had no regrets about leaving the children home alone, “No, I really don’t because if they had been there by themselves, I don’t know if the boys set the house on fire or somebody threw something in there to set it on fire. I really need to get in there to see if my purse burned up. I had my Food Stamp Card and everything in there.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Memphis Fire Department.
UPDATE: Two-year old Catareon Dunn remains in extremely critical condition at LeBonheur Children's Hospital. No charges have been filed against the mother and aunt of the children; however, the Memphis Police Department is still investigating the case.

While nothing is official yet, it’s expected that all four of the “Housewives” franchises — New York, New Jersey, Orange County and Atlanta — will air in syndication.
The originals air on Bravo, NBC’s sister cable network. It hasn’t been worked out how the repeats will air, but episodes from each individual series — like “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” — are expected to air in continuous blocks for continuity purposes.

… stabbing her lover’s pregnant fiancée in 2006. Carla Hughes, 28, sobbed loudly as a judge read the verdicts on two counts of capital murder for the deaths of Avis Banks and her unborn child. The jury also found the slayings occurred during the commission of a burglary, making Hughes eligible for the death penalty.
A jury of nine women and three men are due to return to Madison County Circuit Court Wednesday morning to decide if Hughes should be executed for killing Banks, who was five months pregnant. Their verdict must be unanimous or Hughes will receive a life sentence. Madison County district attorneys alleged Hughes killed Banks so she could be with Keyon Pittman, her lover and colleague at Chastain Middle School in Jackson, Mississippi.

Juan Gonzalez was arrested Friday night in Queens — toting along his 13-year-old brother, authorities said. They were caught red-handed…… in Richmond Hill, a police source said. But authorities also are eyeing Gonzalez in 25 more burglaries. “He took whatever he could sell,” a source said. It isn’t just his recent burglary rap sheet that’s stunning. Detectives said his first arrest was in 2005, when he was 11. His next followed in 2008. Relatives told The Post that the youngster spent six months in detention. “Instead of going to school, he learned how to be a burglar,” said Juan’s step-grandfather, José Vasquez, 56. “Juan said they did all these burglaries for someone else, and the other guy would sell all these laptops they took and sell them,” Vasquez said. Judge Herman Thomas is going on trial today for coaxing inmates out of their cells and into his whip to do gay and freaky stuff with them:
Herman Thomas had an enviable political record as a black Democrat elected and re-elected in a county overwhelmingly white and increasingly Republican. The respected circuit judge once was the Democratic Party’s choice to be the first black federal judge in south Alabama. Then his career collapsed under allegations that he brought inmates to his office and spanked them with a paddle. Later, an indictment accused him of sexually abusing male inmates in exchange…
… for leniency. The trial on charges of sodomy, kidnapping, sex abuse, extortion, assault and ethics violations is set to start Monday.
The case has shocked his friends and former colleagues. “I’ve always had the highest regard for him. The allegations were a complete surprise to me and everyone else who knew him,” said Bob Edington, a prominent Mobile attorney and former Democratic state senator. Thomas, who was known for wearing distinctive bow ties, stepped down from the bench in 2007 after the allegations of paddling surfaced and just ahead of a judicial ethics trial that could have forced him out of office. He was indicted on the more-serious charges this past spring by a Mobile County grand jury. If convicted of the most serious charges — sodomy and kidnapping — he faces 20 years to life in prison.
The oldest incident in the charges dates back to 1999, his first year as a circuit judge. The first public claim against Thomas surfaced in lawsuits filed by an inmate in 2001 in Mobile circuit court and in federal court that claimed the judge offered to help him with his case in return for sex. Both lawsuits were dismissed, and Thomas’ reputation remained unblemished. Chief Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson said authorities began looking at Thomas after he changed a jail sentence in 2006 for his cousin, former Mobile County school commissioner David Thomas, even though the case was being handled by another judge. Other cases that Thomas had taken over from other judges without their approval soon surfaced, she said.
Some inmates in those cases described being checked out of the jail for meetings with Thomas in his car or in his private office in the county courthouse. First, there were reports of inmates having to pull down their underwear for spankings with a wooden paddle. Then came allegations of oral and anal sex, according to court records.
Jail checkout records back up inmates’ claims about trips to Thomas’ private office, and other inmates spotted marks after paddlings. There also is other evidence, according to court records, including one inmate’s seminal fluid on the office carpet. The inmates also were able to describe in detail Thomas’ unmarked windowless office. Prosecutors say they have 15 current and former male inmates lined up to testify in a trial that could take several weeks.

It's bad enough Mechelle's husband, former Tennesse Titan Steve McNair, was murdered by one of his lovers, now a property management company has exposed ANOTHER side piece. This new chick was discovered after the management company started proceedings against Steve's estate for back rent. Mechelle argues the estate should not be responsible for the rent because Steve was a co-signer only. The apartment in question is in one of Steve's cousin's names but the utility bills and mail were all addressed to a young woman. Incidentally, the apartment was vacated one month after Steve's death and the rent in July, the month Steve was killed, was never paid.

Beyonce and Solange Knowles’ father and business manager Matthew Knowles has another mouth to feed, according to TMZ.com.
Matthew, who has been known to sow his wild oats indiscriminately in the past, has been slapped with a paternity suit by Alexsandra Wright who is 6 months pregnant. That gives Matthew 3 months to try and buy her silence before the baby is born.
According to TMZ.com, Wright, who is in her 30s, filed the suit in L.A. County Superior Court where she lives and works in the name branding business. Which means she’s a PR chick.
Wright is repped by Neal Hersh, who is currently repping Lamar Odom in the prenup negotiations with Khloe Kardashian.
Matthew and Tina Knowles have been married for 29 contentious years. The baby will be Matthew’s second child born out of wedlock. Kelly Rowland (pictured above) was also born to Matthew Knowles out of wedlock.

Atlanta police charged a strip club employee with voluntary manslaughter Saturday in the beating death of the former fiancé of the newest member of the reality television show The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Ashley “A.J.” Jewell, who was engaged to Kandi Burruss until last August, died of massive head injuries at Piedmont Hospital. He was fatally injured in a "one-on-one" fight with Fredrick Richardson Friday night, police said.

Richardson also was injured as the two exchanged blows outside the strip bar, the Body Tap Club, Friday night. Richardson was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he will remain until doctors say he can be discharged. Then Richardson will be taken to the Fulton County Jail, according to police spokesman Officer James Polite.
The hospital would not release Richardson's condition, but police said he is conscious and alert.
Polite said detectives were still “trying to figure out [what happened]. We had a pretty good number of witnesses that are being cooperative.”
But the cause of the fight in the parking lot of the club in the 1200 block of Marietta Boulevard was still not known Saturday, Polite said.
Jewell was part-owner of Body Tap, a club popular with celebrities.
Burruss was flooded with condolences on her social networking pages on Twitter.com and MySpace.com.
Burruss thanked friends for their condolences and asked for prayers for Jewell’s six children.
But she asked to be left alone. “im just in one of those moods where i dont wanna talk, i dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. i just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone,” she wrote on a Twitter.com post.
She also posted that she had to get some rest before her uncle’s funeral on Saturday.
Kim Zolciak, a fellow "Housewives" castmate, said in a phone interview from California Saturday morning how "disgusted" she was that someone could take a life like this.
"My heart and prayers are with Kandi, AJ's children and family," she said. "I can't imagine the loss they're feeling. I'll be there for my dear friend Kandi."
Zolciak added, "I adored A.J. He will definitely be missed."
Burruss, who has a daughter, joined the other Atlanta "housewives" this season as they focus on their status, their clothes and who’s arguing and why.
Jewell, as Burruss’ fiancé, appeared occasionally the show. In some episodes the 33-year-old Burruss argued with her mother over her relationship with Jewell.
Burruss is an award-winning singer-songwriter and a solo performer. She was a member of the now-disbanded R&B group Xscape.
According to an interview last month with the entertainment Web site Essence.com, Burruss and Jewell had taken a “hiatus” from their relationship but remained friends while they worked on their issues.

The provincial governor of Zimbabwe’s Midlands Province said “an adult human being was responsible” after a goat gave birth to a “human-like creature” on Sunday.
Governor Jason Machaya led a delegation of police officers and journalists to the Maboleni area in Lower Gweru, under Chief Sogwala, to see the “creature” which died within hours.
“The head belongs to a man while the body is that of a goat,” Governor Machaya told the Chronicle newspaper.
Machaya said he believed a local man had “lost self control” and had sex with the goat.
“This incident is very shocking. It is my first time to see such an evil thing,” the governor said. “It is really embarrassing. It’s self-evident that an adult human being was responsible. Evil powers caused this person to lose self control.”
The Chronicle said “the creature had a human head, face, nose, shoulders and human-like skin that had very scanty furs. It had goat features from the ‘shoulders’ to the legs.”
Its “sagging stomach”, the paper said, “prevented curious villagers from determining whether it had human or animal sex organs as it protruded covering the front part.”
“Villagers said the end product was so scary that even dogs were afraid to move close to the goat,” the paper’s Midlands correspondent wrote after a trip to Maboleni with the governor.
