Cheap Thrill

A 39-year-old Thousand Oaks man has been arrested for reportedly paying teens to spit in his face, slap him and yell profanities at him, a spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department said today.Charles Hersel, who was arrested on child annoyance charges and released on his own recognizance, reportedly sought out young male Westlake High School students on the MySpace social networking website, said Capt. Frank O’Hanlon.“It didn’t take long for word to spread among local teens that they could get paid to spit in a man’s face,” O’Hanlon said.Teens also reported that Hersel asked them to urinate and defecate on him. He was arrested Wednesday after an undercover sting operation at the Westlake Promenade mall, where he paid a teen $31 to spit in his face.

  2. Dear Site,
this is CHARLES HERSEL. I was acquitted of these child annoyance allegations by a unanimous not guilty jury verdict at Ventura Superior Court on February 7,2012 in less than an hour. Charges were brought against me by the parents of CONNOR GANTT, KEATS STANLEY, AUSTIN PERRY, JOSEPH MATHEWS and CHRIS ANDERSON. CONNOR GANTT, KEATS STANLEY, AUSTIN PERRY and JOSEPH MATHEWS spat on me and yelled profanities at me for cash. JOSEPH MATHEWS (JP MATHEWS) also smacked me hard and put his shoe in my mouth. ALL of these guys are over 18 years old and graduated from WESTLAKE VILLAGE HIGH SCHOOL on 2011 in WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIFORNIA. All of these guys brought their friends to take my money and they all laughed and enjoyed it when they would mistreat me or abuse me for cash. I was a victim of child abuse so that's why I asked for the mistreatment. The case was won by me and is closed.
    Sincerely,
    CHARLES HERSEL
